ARTIST STATMENT

I paint what I see! I see what I paint!

I am interested in visualising the unseen, the hidden and unconscious. I am interested in visualising both what is passively hidden from our eyes in darkness and what we actively hide away.

I work from imagination. I get inspiration during moments of free association. They lead to a sketch and the draft of my project.

I associate shapes with colours. Geometrical order emerges from my drafts. Over this order disorder and chaos occurse. I am fascinated by how order can easily flip into the unexpected, creating chaos or even uprising.

I am not always in control. I paint about life.
